Cookies and similar technologies on Bookable websites and the Bookable booking widget

Last updated · 1 March 2026 Version 1.0

This Cookies Policy explains how The Bookings Group Limited ("Bookable", "we") uses cookies and similar technologies on (a) our own websites and platform at bookabletech.com and related domains (the "Bookable Sites"), and (b) the Bookable booking widget when it is embedded on Operator websites (the "Widget").

This Policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to improve functionality, to remember preferences and to provide information to website operators. "Similar technologies" include local storage, session storage, pixels and device identifiers that operate in a comparable way.

We use both session cookies (which expire when you close your browser) and persistent cookies (which stay on your device for a defined period or until you delete them). Cookies can be set by us (first-party) or by third parties on our behalf (third-party).

2. Categories of cookies we use

We group cookies into the following categories:

Strictly necessary

Essential for the website or Widget to work — for example, to route requests, remember what you've added to a booking flow, maintain a logged-in session, or apply security controls. These cannot be switched off in our systems.

Functional

Used to remember choices you make (such as language, region, display preferences) and to provide enhanced, personalised features.

Analytics / performance

Help us understand how visitors use our sites so we can measure and improve performance, investigate errors and improve the product.

Marketing

Used to understand how marketing campaigns are performing, to retarget visitors on other sites and to measure effectiveness. These are only set with your consent where required.

3. Cookies on the Bookable Sites

When you visit a Bookable Site we use the following cookies. The specific names and providers are indicative and will be confirmed against the current live list.

Strictly necessary

Session identifiers, CSRF tokens, load balancer cookies, authentication cookies, cookie-consent preference cookie.

Functional

[Language / locale preference], [dashboard UI preferences], [session persistence for the platform].

Analytics / performance

[Google Analytics 4], [Microsoft Clarity (session recordings and heatmaps)], [Sentry error reporting].

Marketing

[LinkedIn Insight Tag], [Google Ads], [Meta Pixel] — only set with your consent where required by UK/EU law.

Tip: Before publishing this Policy, generate a current cookies inventory (e.g. via a CMP scanner) and replace the bracketed placeholders with the exact names, providers, purposes and durations of each cookie.

4. Cookies set by the Bookable Widget

When the Bookable Widget is embedded on an Operator's website, it may set cookies or use similar storage on your device in order to provide the booking experience. These are set under the Operator's domain or a Bookable domain, depending on how the Widget is embedded.

Cookies and storage set by the Widget typically include:

Strictly necessary

A booking-session identifier to maintain your place in the booking flow, security and anti-fraud tokens, and storage of transient booking data (e.g. selected date, party size) between steps.

Functional

Preferences such as selected venue or party size for the duration of the session.

Analytics / performance

[Widget-level analytics used to improve the booking experience, anonymous usage measurement, error reporting].

The Widget does not set marketing cookies.

Information for Operators: Where you embed the Widget on your website, the Widget is operating within the context of your site and your cookie banner / consent management platform should reflect the cookies set by the Widget. Bookable will provide an up-to-date reference list of cookies set by the Widget on request at [URL or email].

5. Your choices

5.1 Consent and preferences

Where required by law, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies. You can change your preferences at any time via the cookie preferences link on the Bookable Sites.

On Operator websites, the Operator's own consent banner governs your consent choices for that site, including in relation to the Widget.

5.2 Browser controls

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, or receive a notification before a cookie is stored. For guidance, see your browser's help pages. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of our Services from working properly.

5.3 Do Not Track

We currently do not respond to Do Not Track browser signals, as there is no consistent industry standard. We will update this position if one is adopted.

6. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, regulation or our use of cookies. The updated version will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.

7. Contact

If you have any questions about our use of cookies, contact privacy@bookabletech.com.
